FAQ

The basics

Do you supply and fit, or just supply?

Both. Most of our customers choose our full supply-and-fit service — we handle everything from stripping out the old room through to tiling, plumbing, and the final finish. But if you already have a fitter and just need products, we can supply from our full range at competitive prices.

What areas in Cumbria do you cover?

We're based at Clay Flatts Trading Estate in Workington and cover West Cumbria and the surrounding area — including Whitehaven, Cockermouth, Maryport, Cleator Moor, Egremont, Keswick, and Carlisle. Not sure if we cover your postcode? Give us a call on 01900 267665 and we'll let you know.

How long does a bathroom installation take?

Most standard bathroom refits take between 5 and 10 working days from strip-out to final finish. Larger bathrooms, en-suites with complex tiling, or rooms that need structural work can take longer. We'll give you a realistic timeline in your quote so there are no surprises.

Do I need to find my own plumber or tiler?

No. We have our own team who handle every trade — plumbing, tiling, carpentry, and finishing. You deal with us, and we coordinate everything. No juggling multiple contractors, no gaps in responsibility.

Can I see the products in your showroom before committing?

Yes — and we'd encourage you to. Our showroom at Unit 8, Clay Flatts Trading Estate, Workington is open Monday to Friday 9am–4:30pm and Saturday 10am–2pm (closed Sunday). You can see sanitaryware, tiles, and kitchen styles on display, and our team can walk you through the options in person.

What's included in your quote?

Everything. Our quotes itemise supply, fitting, all labour, waste removal, and a realistic timeline. We don't add surprises after the fact. If something changes during the job, we'll discuss it with you before proceeding.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. We stand behind what we fit. If anything isn't right once the job is complete, we'll come back and sort it. We've been trading in West Cumbria for over 15 years, and our reputation is built on customers recommending us to family and friends — so getting it right matters to us.

FAQ

Bathrooms

How much does a new bathroom cost in Workington?

It depends on the size of the room, whether the layout is changing, how much tiling or panelling you want, and the spec of the suite. One Stop Bathrooms & Interiors prices every job after a home visit — Amanda measures the room and gives you an itemised quote covering supply, fitting, all labour and waste removal, with no surprise additions after the work starts.

How long does a bathroom installation take?

Most standard bathroom refits take between 5 and 10 working days from strip-out to final finish. Larger bathrooms, complex tiling or rooms that need structural work can take longer — the exact timescale is discussed at the home visit and written into your quote.

Can you supply a bathroom without fitting it?

Yes. Most customers choose the full supply-and-fit service, but if you already have a fitter and just need the products, One Stop can supply sanitaryware, showers, tiles and panels from the Workington showroom at competitive prices.

Who actually fits the bathroom?

One Stop's own team, led by Mike. Plumbing, tiling, carpentry and finishing are all handled in-house and coordinated by us, so you deal with one company and one number for the whole job — no juggling separate trades.

Do you do wet rooms and walk-in showers?

Yes. Wet rooms and level-access walk-in showers are a core part of what One Stop fits. Tanking, falls and drainage are done properly first, so the tiles or panels on top last — we treat the waterproofing as the job and the finish as the reward.

What happens if something isn't right after the job?

Call us and we come back and fix it. One Stop stands behind what it fits — the business has built its reputation in West Cumbria on customers recommending it to family and friends, so getting it right matters to us.

FAQ

Kitchens

How much does a fitted kitchen cost?

It depends on the size of the room, the door range, worktops and whether appliances are included. The free design visit ends with a clear written price — no obligation.

How long does a kitchen fit take?

Typically it's measured in weeks rather than days — how many depends on the size of the kitchen and whether electrics, plumbing or flooring are changing. Either way, your start and finish date is confirmed in writing up front, before anything is ripped out.

Do you remove the old kitchen?

Yes. Strip-out and disposal of your old kitchen are included in the job — you don't need a skip, and you don't need to clear the room yourself.

Can I keep my existing appliances?

Yes. If your appliances are staying, Amanda measures them at the design visit and the new kitchen is designed around them — they're reconnected as part of the fit.

Who does the fitting?

One Stop's own fitting team, led by Mike — with electrics, plumbing, tiling and flooring coordinated by us, so you have one number for the whole job rather than a list of trades to chase.

Can I see the kitchens first?

Yes — Milano by Symphony displays are full-size in the showroom at Unit 8, Clay Flatts Trading Estate, Workington. Open Monday to Friday 9am–4:30pm and Saturday 10am–2pm, with free parking and no appointment needed.

FAQ

Tiles

Tiles or wall panels — which is better for a bathroom?

Both work well; it depends on the room and your taste. Wall panels like Multipanel are 100% waterproof with no grout to scrub and are quicker to fit; tiles from brands like Porcelanosa and Nu Tile give you more choice of pattern, format and texture. Many bathrooms One Stop fits use both — panels in the shower, tiles on the floor.

What tile brands do you stock?

Porcelanosa — the Spanish tile house trusted by designers worldwide — and Nu Tile, which covers wall and floor tiles for every room and budget. Both are on the wall in the Workington showroom, so you see full tiles in daylight rather than a small swatch.

Do you fit tiles or just sell them?

Both. Tiling is part of every One Stop bathroom and kitchen fit, handled by our own team. If you just want the tiles, supply-only from the showroom is fine too.

FAQ

Multipanel wall panels

What is Multipanel?

Multipanel is the UK's leading bathroom wall panel brand — a grout-free, 100% waterproof alternative to tiles, made in Edinburgh by Grant Westfield, a company with more than 140 years in interior building design. One Stop Bathrooms & Interiors stocks, supplies and fits Multipanel from its showroom at Unit 8, Clay Flatts Trading Estate, Workington.

Are wall panels better than tiles for a bathroom?

For many bathrooms, yes — panels are 100% waterproof with no grout to maintain, quicker to fit, and clean with a wipe instead of regrouting and mould treatment, while modern tile-effect designs keep the tiled look. Tiles still give more choice of format and texture, and many bathrooms One Stop fits use both — panels in the shower, tiles on the floor. Amanda can price both options after a home visit.

Are Multipanel bathroom panels really waterproof?

Yes — Multipanel panels are 100% waterproof and safe in showers and wet rooms. Panels join with the Hydrolock® watertight joint for a near-seamless finish, and they carry a 30-year warranty when installed and maintained in line with the manufacturer's guidelines.

Can Multipanel be fitted over existing tiles?

Yes. Multipanel's tongue-and-groove panels can be installed directly over sound existing tiles, plaster, plasterboard, stud walls and even concrete — which usually means no rip-out, less mess and a much faster fit, with many panelled bathrooms ready to use again within 24 hours. We check the condition of the wall at the home visit before confirming.

How long do Multipanel wall panels last?

Multipanel wall panels carry a 30-year manufacturer's warranty when installed and maintained in line with the guidelines. Because there is no grout to crack, discolour or harbour mould, a panelled wall typically needs almost no maintenance over its life.

Are wall panels cheaper than tiling?

Material costs are broadly comparable — where panels differ is labour time. There are no drying or grouting stages and usually far less wall preparation, so the fitting takes fewer days on site. Amanda prices panels and tiling like-for-like after a home visit if you want the honest comparison for your room.

What Multipanel ranges are there?

More than 70 designs across five collections: the award-winning Tile Collection (the UK's first tile-effect wall panel to be Made in Britain and FSC certified, and Ideal Home's Best Bathroom Surface 2024), Pure's matt neutrals, marbles and stones, the exclusive Linda Barker designer collection, plus Contemporary and Classic. Grant Westfield also makes matching waterproof click vinyl flooring.

Where can I see Multipanel wall panels in Cumbria?

At the One Stop Bathrooms & Interiors showroom at Unit 8, Clay Flatts Trading Estate, Workington. We are a Multipanel stockist and keep samples of the collections in store, so you can compare finishes in person before you order — and get a supplied-and-fitted price on the same visit.

Why are wall panels popular in holiday lets?

Because a panelled bathroom can be refurbished with minimal downtime and the wipe-clean, grout-free surface stands up to heavy changeover cleaning — which is why panels are a popular choice for Lake District holiday lets and rental properties.

Who fits Multipanel in West Cumbria?

One Stop supplies and fits Multipanel across Workington, Whitehaven, Cockermouth, Maryport, Egremont and Keswick. Installation is led by Mike, our fitter, supported by trusted local fitters — or supply-only is fine if you already have someone.

FAQ

Naturepanel wood panelling

What is Naturepanel?

Naturepanel is 100% waterproof wood panelling made by Grant Westfield, the Edinburgh manufacturer behind Multipanel. It gives you the slat-wall look without the maintenance — safe in showers and wet areas, and equally at home across the rest of the house. One Stop stocks, supplies and fits it from its Workington showroom.

Can Naturepanel really go in a shower?

Yes — unlike real timber slats, Naturepanel is 100% waterproof, joins with the Hydrolock watertight joint, and is safe in showers and wet areas. It carries a 30-year warranty when installed and maintained in line with the manufacturer's guidelines.

What does the slat detail actually look like?

Each panel has a 6.4mm etched shadow-gap detail, so the wall reads as individual timber slats with a near-seamless finish where panels meet. Decors include Wood Slat finishes such as Bleached Cuneo Oak, Brown Cuneo Oak and Warmia Walnut, plus the newer Shiplap collection — the ranges we stock are on the showroom wall at Clay Flatts.

What size are Naturepanel panels?

Panels come in 2700×1200mm and 2700×598mm, so most walls are covered with very few joins. The showroom displays let you judge the scale of the slat detail at full size before you decide.

What's the difference between Naturepanel and Multipanel?

Same manufacturer, same Hydrolock joint, same 30-year warranty — the difference is the look. Multipanel covers tile, marble and stone effects for bathroom walls; Naturepanel covers wood slat and shiplap looks for feature walls, media walls and wet areas alike. They're displayed side by side in the Workington showroom.

Who fits Naturepanel in West Cumbria?

One Stop supplies and fits Naturepanel across Workington, Whitehaven, Cockermouth, Maryport, Egremont and Keswick — as a feature wall, part of a media wall, or a full wet-area job. Installation is led by Mike, our fitter, supported by trusted local fitters.

FAQ

Fireplaces & media walls

What fireplaces and stoves does One Stop supply?

The whole Flare Collection by BeModern: fireplace suites and surrounds, inset and wall-mounted fires in electric and gas, electric and gas stoves, and 5kW multifuel log burners. The range is on display in the Workington showroom alongside the wall panelling media walls are built from.

Do you sell log burners?

Yes — Flare's multifuel stoves, including the Ignite 5 Widescreen: 5kW output, A-rated for energy efficiency, Ecodesign Ready 2022 and smoke-exempt, with optional log stores. Every log burner we supply is professionally fitted, and flues, hearths and regulations are talked through at the home visit.

Do you build complete media walls?

Yes. A media wall is joinery, electrics and finish, and One Stop designs it around the fire and the screen, builds it, and hands you one finished wall — rather than leaving you to coordinate a joiner, an electrician and a decorator yourself.

How much does a media wall cost?

It depends on the size of the wall, the fire you choose and the panelling or finish around it. Amanda prices the whole job after a home visit, itemised so you can see exactly what's included.
